CBI to investigate trap case against Tehsildar Bahu Trap case against Tehsildar Bahu, who was caught red handed by Anti –Corruption Bureau while demanding and accepting bribe, has been handed over to Central Bureau of Investigation. With the approval of Lt Governor Manoj Sinha, the UT Government has requested the CBI to investigate the case FIR number 02/2022, Police Station ACB, Rajouri along with related aspects of the case being investigated by the ACB, J&K. Decision in this regard was taken on consideration of a report submitted by Deputy Commissioner Jammu, who conducted an inquiry into the allegations of fake documents and fraudulent mutation in revenue village Rakh Bahu, Tehsil Bahu, district Jammu, which revealed a deep conspiracy regarding preparation of forged documents of the land in question. As per the report, the accused private person in this case happens to be the complainant in case FIR related to trap of Tehsildar Bahu. The DC Jammu further reported that application for the fard, which formed the basis of the trap case of the Tehsildar, was itself based on evidently forged documents. This raised serious questions about not only the applicant of fard/complainant in trap case but also the manner, motive and process in which the case was unfolded. Further, the complainant in trap case had a tainted history with respect to forgery of revenue documents. He was the main accused person in FIR lodged before J&K Police through Addl DC Jammu on 25-10-2019 wherein it was found that the said complainant was involved in the forgery of the signature of then Deputy Commissioner Jammu, in order to get a fraudulent mutation attested in a fake Roshni case. The report of DC Jammu revealed that the person, against whom FIR was got already registered by the Revenue authorities regarding his involvement in forgery of land documents and had to face criminal charges, with some nefarious design/ulterior motives acted as the complainant in the trap case of Tehsildar Bahu, the occasion of which was based on fake revenue papers produced by the complainant for attestation of mutation. The report further reveals that the trap conducted by the ACB J&K is not based on facts and has undergone some procedural lapses during the proceedings. On consideration of the report of DC Jammu, the UT Government decided to have a thorough investigation conducted in the matter of forgery of documents to grab prime land worth crores and also case FIR number 02/2022 P/S ACB Rajouri and related aspects of the case through CBI.
