BJP leader Altaf Thakur expresses serious concern over dumping of waste from other districts at Tral's Pushard

Extends full support to protesting locals; Urges DC, MC officials to act against violators, says won't allow garbage of other districts to be dumped in Tral Srinagar, July 07: Expressing serious concern over the dumping of waste from other districts at the dumping site of Pushard, Tral, senior BJP leader and party's JK spokesman Altaf Thakur Friday urged the district administration to look into the issue and ensure waste from other districts is not allowed to get dumped in Tral at any cost. Thakur also termed the protest of locals against the move as justified and genuine stating that it was totally unjustified to see vehicle ferrying garbage from Chadoora area getting dumped at Pushard, Tral. In a statement issued here, the BJP leader said that district administration and local municipal committe Tral should ensure no vehicle from outside district enters Tral with garbage and other waste as it will create huge problems for the local population of Tral. Thakur said that if the process continues, it will create health hazards and pose a threat to residents and children. The BJP leader said officials responsible for damaging the environment of Tral should face the music and that there should be a thorough probe into the matter as to how the garbage laden vehicles from other districts are entering Tral. He extended full support to locals who are protesting the move and stated that garbage waste from other districts will not be allowed to be dumped in Tral at any cost.
